Welcome to Genix. By downloading, installing, or using the Genix binary or framework (collectively referred to as the “Software”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
1. License and Usage
1.1 Free to Use – Genix is provided free of charge.
1.2 Permitted Use – The Genix framework and template structure are publicly available for both personal and commercial use. Open-source components of Genix are licensed under the MIT License and may be used, modified, forked, and redistributed in accordance with that license.
1.3 Prohibited Use – You may not use the Software for unlawful purposes or represent modified versions, forks, or independent tooling as official Genix products.
2. Content Responsibility
2.1 No Responsibility for Generated Content – Genix is a tool for generating static websites. You are solely responsible for the content, data, and materials produced using Genix.
2.2 Third-Party Content – We do not endorse or take responsibility for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of any content generated or published using the Software.
3. Development Server and Watch Functionality
3.1 Local Development Only – Genix contains a local HTTP server and Watch functionality intended solely for development purposes.
3.2 Not for Public Serving – The local server is not intended for hosting files publicly. Any public serving of files using the local development server is at your own risk.
4. Security and Liability
4.1 Security Risks – We are not responsible for any security risks, vulnerabilities, or damages resulting from the improper use of the Software, including public exposure of the local development server.
4.2 Intended Deployment – The intended use of the Software is that the static files generated be hosted on a secure, public Content Delivery Network (CDN) or equivalent hosting service.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Open-Source Components – Portions of Genix are open source and licensed under the MIT License. Ownership and usage of those components are governed solely by their applicable open-source licenses.
5.2 Project Ownership – Digital Logic, LLC owns and maintains the Genix project, including the Genix name, branding, official documentation, website (genix.dev), and official binary distributions.
5.3 Trademarks – “Genix” is a trademark of Digital Logic, LLC. You may not use the Genix name, logo, or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship, or official status without prior written permission.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital Logic, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from use of or inability to use the Software.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
9. Changes to Terms
Digital Logic, LLC reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
